A business analyst has the duty of auditing the operations of a firm, identifies shortcomings and offers advice on solid improvements which will propel the business to new heights. He audits the organization’s accounts, applies strategies in sales and marketing as well as the inventories. He also has the duty of preparing test plans for both the user and system. He takes part in business planning and assesses business risks.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analyses and lists down the requirements of a business through the provision of specifications that are functional in a bid to execute test plans meant for the system and the user
  • Documenting the processes of a business after a detailed analyzing
  • Liaising with the clients on specifications given for a business in terms of business analysis and work flow
  • Linking the development team with the customer in regard to software functionality development
  • Mentoring those inexperienced in this sector
  • Overseeing the execution of effective business plans which he has laid out
